At the heart of Dovetail Studio is craftsman and founding partner, Steve Leamy whose passion for woodworking was passed down from his great-grandfather, a craftsman and furniture maker. Inspired by this influential legacy, Steve began apprenticing at a local cabinet shop in Astoria, OR during high school.
Relocating to eastern Washington some years later, he embarked on his first business endeavor as a cabinet maker in 2009 with the support of his late mentor and confidant, Barry Culbertson. After years of literal blood, sweat and tears, Steve launched Dovetail Studio, a subsidiary of DS Contractors Northwest, LLC in 2016.
With an eye for detail, passion for quality craftsmanship, and his love of natural elements, Steve continues to guide the company in such a way that honors the legacy of his forefathers and cherished mentor, fulfilling a dream.
